Experienced in Linguistics, with emphasis on Linguistic Theory and Analysis, she works mainly in the following areas: language acquisition/learning, foreign language teaching/learning, Spanish teaching/learning, and contrastive linguistics. She has been a translator (public and of works, especially literary works) and has conducted research in the field of translation theory and practice. In recent years, she has also dedicated herself to issues of language policy, focusing mainly on the situation of Spanish teaching in Brazil, whose characteristics are also the subject of her analyses. She is co-author of Orientações Curriculares para o Ensino Médio (Linguagens, Códigos e suas Tecnologias: Conhecimentos de Espanhol, MEC-SEB, 2006). Likewise, she has dedicated herself to the critical analysis of teaching materials for teaching Spanish (Elementary and Secondary Education) and was a representative of the foreign languages ​​area on the Technical Committee of the PNLD 2011, Elementary Education and an evaluator of the PNLEM 2012.
